2 years ago, that was less than my wife’s B6 Passat’s fill up. She required premium with a 16 gallon tank - at ~3.69 a gallon it was close to $60 to fill.

Please give me your gas prices. I’d never complain. It is at least a $1 more a gallon out here. (CA)

One reason why I sold my A6 was the horrible gas mileage. Required premium as well.

It was the same with my wife’s G37x. Seventeen gallons of premium at over $4 (I think it topped out at $4.50) a gallon was a bit much.

We have that here in Kansas. It’s as expensive or more so than Premium, which kinda blows. I’ve never tested to see if it improves fuel economy enough to offset the cost (I highly doubt it)

Running great, but with no AC it’s not getting a whole lot of miles on it right now. It was cool enough Saturday to drive it around at least. Still haven’t decided what to do about the B-pillar rust.

There’s a rust free 9C1 Caprice that I looked at before the Roadmaster. It’s still for sale, because the guy wants top dollar and won’t budge. I almost bought it anyways, but he smokes in it, and my wife is super-sensitive to that.

They run regular but mid grade is the recommendation while premium may throw off the cylinder deactivation and stop-start system (if they have that). I only sort of remember because it was selling point between the 5.7L HEMI and the 5.3L V8.

Last time I filled up my V50 with 11 gal of Midgrade for $29, approx $2.50 per gal. Awesome price for California, but we just got back and it looks like it’s up past $3 again. The V50 doesn’t care much for the plenty of stop and go as well as short trips that I take so it got about 16 mpg last tank, likely no thanks to my using Mid over Topgrade. This tank I’ve been venturing longer and further, though, so I’m hoping to break 20 mpg. The school run just wreaks havoc on trying to manage fuel economy, but with such a small tank it's not a pain to fill once a month.

So I’ve heard. My ‘06 Sierra is even popping a bit of rust, a smidge on the driver’s side rocker panel and the inside bottom of the driver’s door (a real GMT-800 weak point) is looking pretty gnarly.

That 9C1 being so clean is just amazing at it’s age. All the ones from this area are rot boxes. The guy told me he wouldn’t sell it to me if I was planning on driving it in the winter, which I couldn’t bear to do to it.

I drive a ‘97 GMC Safari that has had every major component replaced in the time I’ve owned it. And the paint is literally falling off the entire van. In great white flakes. No rust, though, except for a spot on the roof where the primer has also come off. I’d love to paint it, but to do so properly would require removing all of the glass, and sandblasting the whole thing, and that would be a big job.

Haha, I did figure that out, although I’d never heard that term before. I could’ve earned about 3-1/2 g’s working a 3 week summer term, but after taxes and an $80/day daycare bill, it just wasn’t worth the trouble. Plus the class I would’ve tought is suuuuuuuuuper boring. It’s called Computer Concepts, and it’s basically how to use Microsoft Office ... 2007. Four years ago I had to teach it once a day for a year. Most boring class to teach EVAR!

The higher octane doesn’t do jack shit for you if the engine’s calibrated for 87 - it just makes it harder to ignite. An ignition system in good shape will be fine with that (so a new vehicle, it’s not an issue), but marginal ignition systems may misfire more.

I’m not worried so much about the cost as I am the performance difference and the effect of it on my carb. My Lean Burn era Holley 6208 electronically controlled carb has a lot of sensitive crap in it that the E10 eats up. I’ve had to replace 2 of the electronic sensors (requiring almost a rebuild) in the year or so that I’ve had it because the ethanol kills them if the car sets for long periods (which it does, its my 3rd car). Plus I go from 12 city, 18 hwy to 15 city, 22 highway. Makes driving it bearable and it idles without having to kick it into neutral at stoplights. And yes I have futzed with the settings and tried to iron it out
